Spice Up Your New Years

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the New Year? Resolutions, a huge holiday bash, confetti, watching the clock tick down until the last second,  pointy party hats and noisemakers, screaming “HAPPY NEW YEARS!” surrounded by family and friends. All of these things are the essence of New Years. It’s the happiness of celebrating another years passing and a bright and shiny new one. Make your holiday more special with this seasonal New Years drink…it can even be enjoyed all winter long!


Hot Buttered-Rum
(Servings 20)

•    10 tblspns of butter
•     1 ¼ cup of brown sugar                              
•    ¾ cup organic sugar
•     (15.5 fluid ounce) dark Jamaican rum
•    2 1/2 cups crème brulee flavored ice cream
•    2 tblspns of ground cinnamon
•    20 cup simmering water
•    2 tblspns of ground nutmeg

1.    Combine butter, brown sugar, and organic sugar in a large punch bowl; stir the mixture together with a spoon until well combined.
2.    Pour in the rum, add the ice cream and cinnamon, and fill the remainder of the bowl with simmering water.
3.    Mix with the spoon until the ice cream and butter have melted together to make a creamy topping.
4.    Top bowl of mixture with your ice cream and butter mixture.
5.    Sprinkle nutmeg across the top, and serve.

Everyone will enjoy this delicious hot drink and the party will be lots more festive!
