A Different Kind of Dessert


Everyone knows and loves the traditional deserts at Thanksgiving time: pies, cakes, cobblers, cheesecakes, cupcakes…The list goes on and on. While these are delicious they can sometimes be not that good for you…especially in as large amounts as Thanksgiving usually warrant. While some cakes and other desserts can be made organically, with natural ingredients, to cut down on the high sugar or cholesterol content, it still isn’t so healthy for younger children in such quantity and variety. Today we’re featuring a recipe that can be a great and healthy alternative to a sugary confection. Enjoy!

Fruit Pizza
(Serves about 8)


    8 large tortillas
    1/2 cup vegan vanilla yogurt
    3 large strawberries
    One banana
    1 cup cantaloupe
    1 cup pineapple
    2 apricots
    2 kiwis
    1 orange (2 clemintines)

1.    Chop all fruit into smaller pieces. Mix together in large serving bowl.
2.    Spread the yogurt over the tortilla, enough to make fruit stick.
3.    Next arrange the fruit on the tortilla, using more yogurts for paste if needed.
4.    Bon Appétit!

Note: Spice up the plain fruit with some delicious organic sugars! Sprinkle Tropical, Berry Limón, and Spicy Rose sugars. There are all delicious and much better for you than most processed sugars. Don’t have a sweet tooth? Give it a twist Citrus Salt or Green Tea Mint Salt!
